Psychotherapy and The Human Experience

While universal, the human experience is a complex journey that can at times feel individually overwhelming and unbearable. In my practice, I help you navigate the emotional layers of your journey, while finding peace and knowledge from each experience.

I believe that from birth we have done and continue to do our absolute best to adapt to our life on earth. We adapt to the spoken and unspoken rules of our family, compensate for needs unmet, navigate society’s judgements and expectations, and learn to cope despite the wounding of trauma we suffer along the way. Often at a young age, based off of limited life experience, and out of desperation to survive, we develop coping mechanisms, narratives, and beliefs about reality, that are often what eventually brings us to a point of reflection and seeking therapy.

I see my role as someone who can help you identify, develop, and practice ways to cope and navigate the world that will create a life of your choosing, rather than the one you were born into.

When working with children and teenagers, the same remains true. I work with youth and families to identify environmental challenges, familial circumstances, and problematic symptoms. Together we will implement practical interventions that will ultimately improve the clients’ quality of living so they have the best opportunity to build an optimal future for themselves. I have extensive experience working with a wide range of families and complex situations, including adoption, foster care, traumatic events, and divorce.

I meet clients where they are in the present moment, therefore, I do not subscribe to one particular theory, rather a collection of professional and personal learnings and experiences. My approach is largely relational, incorporating an interpersonal and neurobiological perspective, while sourcing from Jungian Psychology, Internal Family Systems Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy and Attachment Theory. I intuitively determine what collection of treatment would be the most effective and productive in helping you emotionally thrive. Our work together will be fluid and intentional, where humanity is honored and celebrated.
